Director of Young People & Families at Catch22

Training is such an important part of ensuring safe, quality services. It is essential that we recognise excellence in the field and put the spotlight on those to deliver.

Emma joined Catch22 in 2015, and in 2022 she was promoted to Director of Young People & Families.

Emma went to City University in London to train as a paediatric nurse before undertaking a change of career in her mid 20’s. She began working in residential children’s homes as a Senior Residential Social Worker before going to work for The Children’s Society as a Youth Participation Manager. Before joining Catch22 Emma was Youth Development Manager for The Hyde Group, one of the largest housing associations in England with over 50,000 homes across London, the South East and the Midlands. Emma lives in Brighton with her husband Rob and 5-year-old daughter Alice.

The Young People & Families Operational Hub delivers a wide range of integrated support services designed to help resolve complex difficulties experienced by young people and their families/carers. Support is provided to people who find themselves in a range of circumstances; they may be missing from home or have emotional, housing or substance misuse issues. The hub also supports families where parents/carers are experiencing domestic abuse, substance misuse, emotional issues, homelessness or unemployment. Whatever the situation, they work alongside young people and their carers to find a way of stabilising their lives.
